And, during the lockdown they are offering amazing vegan takeaway feast boxes stuffed with vegie treats such as House Tofu, Yorkshire Seaweed & Miso Broth and Crown Prince Squash Dumplings, Fried Onions & Ponzu. Sheaf St

In normal times Sheaf St is a cool, all-day hangout in Leeds. But currently during lockdown times, you can drop by and pick up a takeaway or order via Deliveroo for delivery. From breakfast (8.30am) until dinner (8pm) there is an amazing menu of hearty vegetarian and vegan fare to choose from.

From their vegan breakfast to their vegan sausage rolls, everything is freshly made and flavoursome, so you can start your day in the right way.  Then in the evenings, you can choose from their Portobello mushroom burger or their tasty buffalo cauliflower wings – a cool plant-based spin on their classic Sheaf St fried chicken wings.

Oranaise Cafe

A little taste of Morocco in the middle of Hyde Park. Oranaise Café has a huge vegan menu, with all their dishes oozing with Mediterranean flavours. For a hearty winter dinner to warm your cockles, why not try their Dolma with stuffed peppers, aubergine and tofu in a warming stew that’s served with basmati rice and bread. Their meat-free pizzas are also incredibly tasty as well as their vegan waps and burgers. For a naughty late-night snack, try the Oranaise Vegan Junk box – which is French fries topped with caramelised onions, jalapenos, meat-free meatballs, spicy sauce, BBQ sauce, and vegan garlic mayo. Don’t worry – there’s enough for two so you can share the guilt!

Friends of Food

100% plant-based, Friends of Food use ethically-sourced ingredients to create amazingly unusual vegan burgers like you’ve never tried before. Their ‘Beyond meat’ burger patties are a real mouthful and you can choose from crazy variations including The Chick Corea with truffle oil, truffle parmesan and garlic, or the Cauli Bang featuring panko cauliflower pieces, kimchi, wasabi mayo and hoisin. A total taste explosion! Top it all off by adding a Glazed and Confused donut or a Northern Bloc ice cream to your order.

Humpit

If you are a true hummus lover, then Humpit will make all your chickpea dreams come true!

You can buy Humpit’s special-recipe hummus by the bucket-load from their Corn Exchange depot or their Leeds Uni Union branch. Everything on their menu is 100% vegan, so you can go totally wild. Filled pitas, hummus bowls, and salads topped with crispy falafel and pickles. As well as Turkish pizzas, loaded fries and Greek gyros. Whichever dish you go for, it’ll come with a healthy dollop of that all-important hummus, and a drizzle of tahini. Also, when it comes to desert, their sweet chickpeas are seriously scrummy!
